Mets trump the Tribe

Yesterday afternoon the Mets took on the Cleveland Indians, and after scoring 7 runs in the first 2 innings the Mets could relax for the rest of the day. Especially with 5th starter hopeful Yasuku Iriki on the mound. Iriki pitched 3 innings of 1 run baseball, making his Spring Training total 5 innings pitched and only 1 earned run. Following Iriki was one inning shutouts by Juan Perez, Mitch Wylie (the rule 5 draft selection for the Mets this year), and Matt Perisho. Bartolome Fortunato pitched two scoreless innings, and Heath Bell pitched a scoreless ninth. As for the hitters, the only two standouts were two of the three men battling for the second base job. Anderson Hernandez went 2-3 with 2 runs scored, and a walk, while Jeff Keppinger went 2-4 with a double and 2 runs scored. Lastly, top prospect, Lastings Milledge, had another 0-fer, going 0-3. Milledge has struggled this spring, hitting only .154, which would prove to me that he is not yet ready for the bigs.
